Interactive House

After a very helpful (and successful) meeting with Damian we decided as a group to continue with the idea of a house for our group website.

Here is a list of reasons why we think this concept would be successful:

- A memorable and interesting concept that is instantly recognisable.

- It will represent the design team as a whole because we all live in the house together under one roof.

- It will celebrate the abilities of the individuals in the team by giving each member their own bedroom ('personal space') to design how they wish. The room will essentially be a blank canvas.

- The navigating could be very interesting giving the user the ability to travel around the house and enter different rooms.

- Objects around the room could be interactive and used to show galleries, information, links and contact details.

- The ability to extend the site is massive. We could extend the site as you would a real house by adding rooms or building upwards to create another floor.
We could also build other houses and even create a village or community.

- When the website is being constructed or updated we could use a simple 'Under Construction' holding page depicting a building site.

Interactive website

in-ter-ac-tive
-adjective

1. acting one upon or with the other.
2. of or pertaining to a two-way system of electronic communications, as by means of television or computer:
interactive communications between families using two-way cable television.
3.
(of a computer program or system) interacting with a human user, often in a conversational way, to obtain data or commands and to give immediate results or updated information: For many years airline reservations have been handled by interactive computer systems.

Here are some initial thoughts and ideas for our group website...

Brief

SCREEN

Each design team is to create an interactive website that:
1. has a recognisable and memorable identity
2. represents the design team as a whole, yet celebrates the abilities of
the individuals in the team
3. is contemporary
4. has a blog
5. has a gallery
6. has activated contact details

Brief One is competitive between the 4 design teams.
The presentation and screen-based work/portfolio should explore, understand
and apply innovative graphic, design & communication tools.
